To help you manage your participants' portfolios, the Portfolio tool will send you an email when a portfolio is submitted to you for review. The email message tells you who submitted and when, and provides a link for you to quickly log in to Portfolio. You can choose to receive email messages each time a portfolio is submitted, or once a day when portfolios have been submitted. By default, you will not receive email messages. To receive email messages, you must set email notification for each Portfolio project. Follow the steps below to set email notification:

  1. From the Portfolio Project Builder home page, go to the Project Summary page for the project for which you wish to set email notification. To get to the Project Summary you can either click the project title in the "Your recent activity" area on the home page, or click View my projects, and then click the project title.
  2. Click Set email notification in the "I want to" menu at the left on the Project Summary page. You will move to the "Notification preferences" page.
  3. Select an email notification preference, and then click Next. The preferences are as follows:

    Do not send me any email for this project. You will not receive email notification when participants submit portfolios to this project.

    Send me email each time a participant submits a portfolio for review. You will receive an email message each time a participant submits a portfolio to this project for you to review. This could result in a lot of email!

    Send me email once a day when participants have submitted portfolios for review. You will receive one email message each night that summarizes the portfolios participants have submitted to this project for your review in the previous 24 hours.

Update your email address.

Email notification will be sent to the email address you provided when you first set up your Catalyst account. If you did not provide an email address in your Catalyst account, email notification will be sent to the account associated with the UW NetID you use to log in to the Catalyst tools. To verify or change the email address for your Catalyst account, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Catalyst tools to view your account. From within Portfolio, you can select Your Account from the drop-down menu in the upper right, and click Go.
  2. Click Update personal information under the welcome message at the top of the page.
  3. Change your email address and other personal information as needed, and then click Update Account.
